Former Culver Academies star Kayla Miracle has reached the gold medal match of the women’s 62 Kg (137-pound) weight class at the World Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Norway.

Miracle, age 25, faces Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan in the championship round Tuesday.  

The gold-medal match is scheduled to start shortly after 6 p.m. in Norway, which is 12 noon here.  It will be live-streamed on FloWrestling.

In today’s semifinals, Miracle pulled out a tough, 2-0 victory over Lais Nunes de Oliveira of Brazil.

Miracle’s gold-medal opponent, Tynybekova, 28, is ranked No. 1 in the world by United World Wrestling, the governing body of the sport.  She is the defending world champion, having won Kyrgyzstan’s first-ever title in 2019.

Miracle is currently ranked No. 12 in the world and seeking her first World championship.
