Andrew Hayes Arrested for Leaving the Scene of Accident & OWI

On Friday, October 1^st about 3:30 in the afternoon Officer Krynock was called to the parking lot of Hacienda on Miller Drive for a vehicle that struck another vehicle and fled the scene.

During the investigation, the officer located 30-year-old Andrew Lee Hayes at his residence of 5^th Road.  Hayes was offered a certified chemical test and was incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail for Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and for Operating While Intoxicated. 

Hayes was held on a $1,500 cash bond until Saturday, October 2^nd when bond was paid at 8:45 in the morning and he was released with an initial hearing in Marshall Superior Court II on November 9^th.   

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
