On Sunday, September 26, just before 7 PM Corporal Richey with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by 28-year-old Matthew Morgan of Walkerton. The stop was conducted at US 30 and Plymouth Goshen Trail and during the stop Morgan was found to be intoxicated by alcohol.

Matthew Morgan was offered a certified chemical test and was incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a prior charge and for Possession of Marijuana.  He was held on a $1,500 cash bond which was paid about 5 AM Monday morning and he was released with an October 26 initial hearing in Marshall Superior Court II.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
