Highlights include games on Mother’s Day, the night before Memorial Day, Independence Day, and the night before Labor Day

SOUTH BEND – In conjunction with Major League Baseball, the South Bend Cubs have announced their 2022 Minor League Baseball schedule. The Cubs will open the season at home on Friday, April 8 against the Quad Cities River Bandits.

The 2022 season features a 132-game schedule that begins April 8 and ends Sept. 11. Teams will once again play six-game series and have every Monday off. The one exception will be Monday, July 4, where teams will have Tuesday, July 5 off. Unlike the 2021 schedule, the Cubs will play every High-A Central team for at least one series. New for 2022, all High-A Central teams will have a 4-day break to coincide with MLB’s All-Star Week.

South Bend schedule highlights include games on Mother’s Day (May 8), the night before Memorial Day (May 29), Independence Day (July 4), and the night before Labor Day (September 4). The 2022 schedule also features 12-weekend series (Friday-Sunday), the most since becoming a Chicago Cubs affiliate. Game times will be announced at a later date, pending approval from Major League Baseball.
