The Marshall County Council meets this morning at 9 a.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building.  Agenda for the meeting includes Public Comment, Faith Chapman from the Marshall County Health Department with a request to apply for two grants.  Sheriff Matt Hassel will discuss hours for the cook at the jail and Superior Court III Judge Matt Sarber will discuss a clerk’s position. 

The County Council will also consider requests for additional appropriation and transfers.  Also on the agenda is an amendment to the 2021 job description for Superior Court III, amendments to the 2021 Salary ordinance for Superior Court II and III, Salary ordinance amendment for the Highway Department and Central Dispatch along with amendments for the jail and Probation Departments. 

The final item on the regular monthly meeting is the Bourbon Township Capital Improvement Plan. 

The County Council will recess and then begin the 2022 Budget Hearings.  This is anticipated to take several hours as the council will begin the process of cutting requested funds from the budget to meet the estimated revenues projected for 2022.  Council members will look at each department individually and line by line to make their cuts. 

The County Council meeting is open to the public although comments and questions are limited to the first order of business in the regular monthly meeting.
