The Wells County Sheriff’s Department released details on the death of 17-year-old Cameron Fairchild of Warsaw, and a Triton High School Senior. 

The accident happened Saturday, August 28th at 11:28 a.m. on State Road 116 and Country Road 400 West.  The crash report states that Cameron Fairchild was traveling southbound on State Road 116 in a black 2008 Honda Civic.  While attempting to pass, in a no passing zone, Cameron lost control of his vehicle while trying to merge back into his lane of travel.  He collided head on with a white 2012 Jeep Liberty.  Airbags were deployed in both vehicles. 

Cameron Fairchild was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.  The driver of the Jeep, 58-year-old Lisa Calhoun of Argos was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital and a passenger in her Jeep, 68-year-old Carol Thomas of Markle was transported to Lutheran Hospital. 

The Wells County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Markle Fire and Rescue, Uniondale Fire Department, Wells County EMS and Lutheran Air.
