U.S. Representative Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) released the following statement thanking veterans from Indiana and across the country for their service in Afghanistan during the War on Terror.

“For twenty years, men and women in uniform from Indiana and across the country have courageously served in Afghanistan, defending our freedom and fundamental rights. I am grateful for every single veteran’s service and recognize their tremendous contributions both to our nation and to the peace of this region. The progress that they accomplished in Afghanistan – including preventing terrorism on American soil for 20 years – is a testament to our Armed Forces and their resolve,” Congresswoman Walorski said. “I thank all of our Hoosier veterans – along with their families – for their service. The devastating situation unfolding in Afghanistan is difficult to watch. Every veteran should be proud of their service, and each one must remember that they have made a difference in countless lives. For any veteran or service member in crisis, help is available from the St. Joseph County VA Clinic at 574-272-9000, the South Bend Vet Center at 574-231-8480, and the national Veterans Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255.”
