Faith Chapman from the Marshall County Health Department appeared before the Marshall County Commissioners Monday to seek approval to apply for a grant.

Chapman was announced during the meeting as the new Marshall County Health Administrator, replacing Ashley Garcia who left in October of 2020.  Chapman said while she has assumed additional duties as the Administrator she is still continuing to maintain her field work on septic’s for the time-being.

Chapman requested permission to apply for the Emergency Preparedness Grant which helps pay for the county’s Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and anything she needs such as computer programs, training and exercise planning.

Currently Sonia Lawrence serves the county as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator.

When asked how much the grant was, Faith said she didn’t have the exact figure but last year it was $31,000.
