Bremen Police Arrest 2 Kentucky Men at Interra Credit Union for Check Deception

Wednesday evening, July 14^th Officer John Tice with the Bremen Police Department arrested two individuals from Louisville, KY for Check Deception at Interra Credit Union at 1221 West Plymouth Street.

Just after 5 p.m. Officer Tice was dispatched to the financial institution and location 61-year-old James V. Middleton and 66-year-old James B. Highbaugh for Check Deception over $750 as a level 6 Felony and Fraud. 

Middleton and Highbaugh were lodged in the Marshall County Jail on $1,500 cash bonds and given initial hearings in Marshall Superior Court III on August 17^th.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
