Bids were opened Monday evening for the 2021 Street and Sidewalk Projects during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

Four companies offered bids for the projects which include mill and fills on Fifth Street from Lake Avenue to the railroad crossing,  Westgate Avenue from Hillcrest Avenue to State Road 17, Dickman Street from Webster Avenue to the dead-end and LaPorte Street from East Street to Kingston Road.  Also included in the list of projects is a base reconstruction on Seventh Street between Harrison Street and Beerenbrook with a hot mix asphalt overlay.

Other projects in the bid were in Oak Hill Cemetery and the parking lot in Packard Woods for the Senior Center.

E & B Paving Inc. from Rochester submitted the lowest bid at $446,816.14.  Other bids were from Reith Riley Construction Company from South Bend at $496,788; Millstone Contractors North from South Bend at $510,538.59 and Niblock Excavating Inc. from Bristol at $599,033.96. 

The engineer’s estimate for the work was $550,000.

Bids were taken under advisement for review with an award to be completed once the bids are reviewed so the projects can get scheduled.  The Board of Works will confirm the award at their July 26th meeting.
