OWI_Drinking and DrivingOn Wednesday, April 28th at approximately 3:00 PM Officer Arnold with the Plymouth Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of West Lake Avenue and South Oak Drive. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 47-year-old Charles Hite of Plymouth.

After an investigation Mr. Hite was arrested for operating while intoxicated and operating while intoxicated endangerment. He was incarcerated at the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond that was paid about 12:30 in the morning. He was released with a June 1 initial hearing in Marshall Superior Court II.

 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
