arrested_handcuffsWednesday evening, February 3rd about 9:15, Plymouth Police Officer Arnold located a vehicle with false vehicle registration near the intersection of North Michigan and Baker Streets.

The officer lost sight of the vehicle in the residential neighborhoods to the east of Michigan Street.   He located the vehicle as it was recklessly speeding and disregarding stop signs in the residential neighborhoods, however, it failed to stop.

A short time later Officer Arnold located the vehicle and the driver at the Economy Inn. The driver, 26-year-old Ethan Wagers of Plymouth was arrested for Resisting Law Enforcement in a vehicle and Driving While Suspended with a prior charge.

Ethan Wagers was lodged in the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,500 cash bond.  His bond was paid about 11 p.m. and Wagers was released with an April 13the initial hearing in Marshall Superior County II.

 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
