Plymouth Color Logo2014The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved several requests during their meeting Monday evening.

Police Chief Dave Bacon received a request from Brandon Berger, Transportation Director for the Plymouth Community School Corporation to have “School Zone” signs installed on Lincolnway East.  The Chief said they would like to have a sign places near Christo’s Banquet Center for east bound traffic and near the Warana Apartments for west bound traffic.  The sign requires drivers to reduce their speed from 35 MPH to 25 MPH when school is in session.  With the new Jr. High bus traffic and parents pick-up are using Lincolnway East more than before.

The Board of Public Works & Safety approved the request.

Plymouth Park Superintendent Mike Hite requested to begin the hiring process to fill the vacancy of a Recreation Director due to Allie Shook’s resignation a month ago.   They approved the request noting that there is money in the budget for the position.

The final request came from Nickey Shively.  The Warana neighborhood will conduct their annual neighborhood picnic on Saturday, September 26th. She asked the Board of Public Works and Safety to have Warana Court blocked off for the event.  She also noted that they will ask participants to wear masks and practice social distancing.  Her request was approved.
