Winter-Weather-RoadA “Winter Weather Advisory” goes into effect beginning at 1pm on Wednesday and continues until 1 pm on Thursday.  The forecast indicates Marshall County could see 3-5 of snow.

Impacts from this storm include roads that will be snow covered, slick, and hazardous for the overnight hours on Wednesday and into early Thursday morning.  This could potentially lead to an increase in slide-offs and traffic accidents.  Sub-zero wind chills on Friday, could cause frostbite to exposed skin.

In preparation for the storm, Marshall County EMA Director Clyde Avery suggests slowing down and allowing extra time to reach your destination along with increasing your following distance.  He says to drive defensively and be aware of the increased potential for hazardous road conditions due to icy conditions and snow.

Marshall County EMA also suggests residents limit their time outside on Friday and if you must be outside, dress in layers and cover all exposed skin.
