Rockies pick up NLC win
PLYMOUTH — The Rockie JV Football team picked up a good NLC win Saturday morning at The Rockpile over Elkhart Memorial 21-14.
Elkhart Memorial picked up the opening touchdown of the game in the first quarter. But the Rockies would answer soon after as a Lennon Creighbaum to Payton Daley pass went for six points.
Both teams missed their conversions so the half would end in a 6-6 tie.
Kwintin Heiny had a rushing touchdown and a Creighbaum to Daley pass connected again in the second half for another TD. Nate Derifield caught a 2-point conversion and Oscar Mendoza adding an extra point. for a 21-6 lead with three minutes to go.
Devante Garcia and Reggie Vasquez led the Rock solid defensive effort for the Rockies in their victory.
The win moves Plymouth to 1-2 in the NLC and 3-2 overall.
Next Saturday they host Wawasee at The Rockpile. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m.
