Monday evening, members of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety approved the Fall 2019 Street and Sidewalk Projects.
City Engineer Rick Gaul made his recommendation including Williams Street from South Michigan to Liberty Street; Third Street from Lake Avenue to Jefferson Street and Washington Street from Third Street to Plum Street.
Fall street projects will also include Chuck Glaub Drive, Becknel Drive and the entrances to the Horse Barn all in Centennial Park.
Gaul said the “rough” estimate of cost for the projects is $400,000.
Gaul also updated members on the new pedestrian bridge near Garro Street. The city conducted their inspection of the project on Monday. City representative attending the inspection included Robert Listenberger from the Park Board, Allie Shook from the Park Department, City Attorney Sean Surrisi, representatives from SEH…the consultants who did the design and inspection services, and Dave Worloski from Northern Indiana Construction, the contractors for the project. Gaul said, “Everything looked pretty good but there are some items that need to be fixed up.”
The bridge can’t be opened until INDOT completes their inspection and that should be happening in the next couple of days.
Mayor Senter said there will be an official ribbon cutting to open the bridge hopefully later this month or early in June.
