The Plymouth Public Library (PPL) is proud to unveil their new branding! PPL has taken large strides to provide exceptional services, engaging programming and events, and a wide-ranging collection of materials to the community. The new branding and logo help to represent how the library continues to evolve and adapt to serve the community as needs change.
PPL worked closely with local marketing firm Heiden Creative to develop a new mission statement to represent the shifting direction of the library. The statement is powerful and succinct for work that the library does every day: “Plymouth Public Library strengthens and enriches our community by providing opportunities to connect, discover, and experience.” This is offered through materials, in-person classes, online offerings, streaming media, knowledgeable staff, and much more. The library is a place to gather, create, engage, dream, explore, and learn for all ages.
Collaboration with local graphic designer Brooklyn Kelley gave the library a new face for the changes. The new logo is fresh and simple, showing a person holding a red book. The logo’s simplicity allows for flexibility. The library will change the color of the book to differentiate their main areas. “Events for each area of the library will be easily identifiable. If it is a children’s event, the book on the logo is yellow. A blue book signifies a teen event, and the official logo with the red book is used for adults and general programming. This should really help our patrons and visitors quickly and easily navigate the library and its events,” said Angela Resendez, Marketing Coordinator for PPL.
“The role of libraries continues to evolve in each community,” said Heather Barron, Director of Plymouth Public Library. “We recognized the need for our brand to change along with our services and our future vision.” The library is excited to continue to expand their services and the way in which they engage with the community.
