Jack Jordan_St. Rep.2017The 2018 legislative session has reached the halfway point, and House Republicans have made great progress with their top priorities, including addressing K-12 funding, strengthening Indiana’s workforce, attacking the opioid epidemic and increasing government efficiency.

Representative Jack Jordan from Bremen said, “Along with these priorities, I am working with Chairman Gutwein of the Government Reduction Committee and co-authoring legislation  that would consolidate and streamline state agency reporting requirements.” The bill would repeal eight chapters, 99 sections and 31 reports in the Indiana Code that are outdated, unused or duplicative. The bill would also consolidate 35 standalone reports or reporting requirements into more accessible formats.

At this point in the legislative process, Senate bills will move to the House of Representatives for consideration, and House bills will crossover to the Senate. To keep track of bills moving through the legislative process, visit iga.in.gov.
