Plymouth Color Logo2014Monday evening members of the Plymouth Common Council took the steps necessary to complete the annexation process for Weir enterprises.

John and Carey Weir recently purchased a historic home on State Road 17/Lake Avenue near the hospital with plans to sell off the home and retain the western portion of the property to build a new daycare facility on.

The property line was directly through the home with half of house on a city lot and the other half on a country lot.  The annexation will bring the entire house into the city limits.

A resolution was passed detailing a fiscal plan to provide municipal services to the one acre tract.  The plan includes $5,000 for extending the water lines and $20,000 for the sewer lines. The projects will be completed yet this fall.

The Common Council also approved the voluntary annexation ordinance on 2nd and 3rd reading during Monday’s meeting.

The Council also unanimously approved on 2nd and 3rd reading an ordinance vacating a portion of Miller Drive.  Culver Tool and Engineering will build a new manufacturing facility in the TechFarm.

The city will vacate a portion of the cul-de-sac in exchange for CTE granting the easement on the property to the city.
