MYRTLE BEACH, SC – It took nine innings but Ancilla’s Chargers put up win number two of the season taking a 7-6 win over Penn State Allegheny Thursday morning.
Ancilla fell behind early but starter Brandon Dagley settled in to throw four shut out innings after the first. He scattered just three hits and struck out five but got no decision. Elijah Nixon came on in the sixth to finish the game, scattering five hits and not walking a batter and taking his first win of the season on the mound.
The hit parade continued for a second straight game for the Chargers as they pounded out 15 hits in the nine innings. Dante Granger and Juan Silfa led the way, each posting three hit games with Silfa driving home a pair of runs. Caleb Mikesell had a double as part of his two hit day, Jade Doyle had a pair of singles and Klint Stille had a pair of RBI’s.
The Chargers are 2-6 on the year and finish off their spring trip on Friday morning with a game against Queensborough Community College.
