Last year, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced a Call for Projects for rural local transportation projects, including bridge, road, safety and sidewalk projects.  This Call was for funding in fiscal year 2021 from July 2020 to June 2021.  After localities presented to INDOT districts in June, INDOT announced last fall that 64 cities, towns and counties in the State were awarded funding, totaling $135 million local and federal investment.  Two of the three projects in the MACOG region, Elkhart, Kosciusko, Marshall and St. Joseph Counties awarded funding were from Marshall County.

The City of Plymouth received $2,147,409 for the reconstruction project of Hoham Drive while Marshall County received $1,674,400 for the replacement of bridge 73 on King Road.

The funding is only for construction, through INDOT may participate in other phases, like engineering and right of way acquisition, in earlier years.  Plymouth and Marshall County must provide 20 percent in local matching funds.
