BourbonPoliceBourbon Chief of Police, Bill Martin , presented his August activity report to the Town Council this week. During the month his five officers logged a total of 4,061 miles covering patrols and other duties.

Among other items, Bourbon officers issued tickets for 31 speeding infractions. Martin explained prior to the meeting that the total included those issued during “Operation Pull-Over”.  Although the average speed over the posted speed limit was 17.0 MPH, the report shows that there were several tickets for driving 75-91 in a posted 60 MPH  zone.

There were a total of 883 daily log entries for the month.

The department is still taking applications for beginner firearms training to be held this September 17. The first part of the training will be held at the Bourbon Police Department and the actual shooting portion will be at the FOP grounds of Marshall County.
