County News_logoThe Marshall County Commissioners received a request from a law enforcement officer to look at the new Indiana code passed in 2014 that allows specific public persons to have their home address removed from the public property data base.

The new code allows judges, law enforcement officers, public officials and victims of domestic violence to have their private information removed from

the public’s access through the county’s GIS.

The commissioners heard on first reading the proposed ordinance Monday that creates a way for approved people to apply to have their name and address removed.

In Marshall County they will have to fill out a request form and pay $25 per parcel and an additional $25 per parcel for any changes to the title of the parcel or relocation of the covered person with the exception of victims of domestic who won’t have to pay any thing. The commissioners are requiring nnual submission of the forms but there wont’ be an annual fee.
