This week the Marshall County Council put their stamp of approval on the 2016 contract with Sheriff Matt Hassel. Previously approved by the sheriff and commissions, Sheriff Hassel’s salary will be $83,015.40 next year.
In other business the County Council approved the 2016 salary ordinance for employees, department heads and elected officials. All full time positions will receive a flat $500 pay increase while part-time employees received a $.25 an hour raise.
The council also re-appointed Maria Keller as their representative on the Alcoholic Beverage Commission and Ronald Armstead to the Koontz Lake Regional Sewer District Board.
The request of Sheriff Hassel to replace a refrigerator on the administration side of the jail was approved by the council and commissioners. The local purchase is estimated to cost between $1,000 to $1,100.
