CGA takes soccer sectional title

PLYMOUTH GIRLS SOCCER SECTIONAL

Culver Girls Academy 5, Warsaw 4 (Penalty Kicks)

Kennedy Kubica scored the CGA goal in the first half. Halftime score 3-1 Warsaw.

Second Half: Jordan Blackburne (CGA) scored unassisted on a scramble in front of the goal. Kubica scored on a free kick. Warsaw’s Rachel McClelland scored on a free kick. Blackburne then scored unassisted to tie the game in the 73^rd minute.

Neither team could score in overtime.

Penalty kicks: First Round: Both teams went 4-5, each missing one. Second Round: On the first kick (sixth kick overall), CGA goalie Hannah Fisher made the stop, then CGA’s Natasha Wanless went left to win the game.

This is CGA’s first sectional title since 2010 and first in Class 2A.
