child_molestation_arrestA mother was arrested last week by Plymouth Police for a charge of Child Molesting as a level 1 felony.

According to court documents, on July 10th, a detective from the Columbus Police Department contacted Detective Leo Mangus with the Plymouth Police Department because he was investigating a child molesting case involving a 7 year old female.  The mother of the child, 21 year old Donna Adams, also known as Donna M. Benton was the suspect.

In a statement to Columbus Police Donna Adams had admitted to having oral sex with the female child at the Economy Inn in Plymouth. She alleged that her boyfriend was also present when the incident took place because they were living together at the time.

Detective Leo Mangus began a local investigation and the two children, a 7 year old girl and 4 year old boy were interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center and implicated Donna Adams/Benton of inappropriate sexual activity.

On July 27th Mangus was able to confirm that the boyfriend had been at the motel from September 2014 through October of 2014 but had since moved to Yuma Arizona.  Detective Mangus made contact with him on July 28th and he denied any knowledge regarding the sexual activity with the child.

Donna Adams with a Columbus address was booked into the Marshall County Jail on August 21st for Child Molesting.  Her bond was set at $50,000.
