Saturday morning, April 20th, at approximately 4 o’clock, an officer with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop for multiple equipment violations at Jefferson and Center Street.

During the traffic stop, the driver, Eveerth Zapata-Barahona, 29 of Plymouth, was found to have never been issued a driver’s license and was intoxicated.

Zapata-Barahona was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Over .08 and Operator Never Licensed. A cash bond of $1500 was issued.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
