While on routine patrol of U.S. 31 Saturday, January 20th at 4:30 in the morning a Marshall County Sheriff Deputy noticed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the off-ramp for Veteran’s Parkway with its hazards on.

While trying to make contact with the driver, the deputy observed 36-year-old Bryan Bradshaw of South Bend sleeping behind the wheel.  After an investigation, it was found that there was probable cause to arrest the driver for operating while intoxicated.

Bradshaw was taken into custody and released on bond just before 2 in the afternoon on Saturday.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
