On Monday the Marshall County Election Board rescinded the resolution previously passed which imposed fines on two candidates who failed to file their campaign finance report on time.
Rick Huff, President of the Marshall County Election Board explained that while the reports were filed late, the Election Board is obligated to offer each candidate the opportunity to a hearing before the board and before assessing any fines for the late fillings.
Earlier this month the County Election Board fined candidate Ginny Bess Munroe $50 and candidate Robert Byers $75 for their late campaign finance reports.
The Marshall County Election Board has scheduled the hearings for Monday, December 4th at 8:30 in the morning in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office. The meeting is open to the public.
