On Thursday, October 26, at 3:56 in the afternoon, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a call about a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 6 near U.S. 31.
LaPaz Police, EMS, and Fire, in addition to Marshall County Police and DNR, responded to the collision.
One occupant was entrapped within one of the vehicles with both drivers and a passenger being transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for medical evaluation and treatment.
Based upon the preliminary investigation, the 2018 gray Chrysler Pacifica van driven by 21-year-old Ashton L. Wilson had been traveling eastbound on U.S. 6. A blue 2013 Ford passenger car driven by 81-year-old Loretta M. Howard failed to yield to the van and attempted to go from U.S. 6 westbound to the ramp for southbound U.S. 31. The van then collided with the passenger car while it was attempting to complete this act. Also injured in the Ford passenger car was 64-year-old Camie D. Howard-Rock.
