The Culver Utilities Department will be flushing hydrants this week.

Hydrant flushing is a routine maintenance item to flush sediment from the water lines and allow for better water flow. During the process, while discolored, the water is safe for consumption, but you probably don’t want to wash your whites in it.

If your water is discolored, the Culver Utilities Department asks that you let the cold-water faucet run for a few minutes until the water is clear.  If discolored water continues, call the Culver Utility Department.

The Culver Street and Utility Department is picking up leaves raked to the curb along with piles of branches at the curb. Residents should keep leaves and branches separated and get both as close to the road as possible but do not place them in the road.

The arm on the leaf truck only extends so far, so if you notice a nice line of remaining leaves, they were outside of the arm’s reach.  The truck will be around town regularly so just rake them back as close to the curb as possible.
