Plymouth Police responded to the intersection of West Jefferson and Fifth Streets Wednesday morning, October 18th just after 11 for a three-vehicle crash.

Sargeant West was the investigating officer and his report states that Keidy Macias Diaz, 33, of Plymouth was traveling south on Fifth Street in a 2016 Nissan Altima.  She told the officer she stopped at the stop sign and thought it was clear before proceeding across Jefferson Street.

When Diaz attempted to cross over Jefferson Street, she collided with a 2017 Ford F-250 that was traveling east of Jefferson Street.  The Ford was driven by 43-year-old Joseph DeWitt of Plymouth.  The impact of that initial crash caused DeWitt’s Ford to collide with a westbound 2012 Ford F-150 that was driven by Richard Mitschelen, 34, of Niles.

Keidy Diaz was transported to St. Joe Hospital in Plymouth.  Her Nissan and DeWitt’s F-250 were towed from the scene.

Plymouth Fire & EMS assisted at the scene.

A report will be forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor for review for possible charges against Diaz for Operating Without a License.
