Tuesday evening the Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals approved the variance of development standards for Nancy Rouse at 714 East LaPorte Street.

Rouse told the board she is working to improve her property and removed a 16-foot round pool and a single-car garage.  She also plans to replace the small deck in the backyard.

Rouse told the BZA she plans to construct a 20×30 2-car garage on the property.  She will be replacing the pool with a 24-foot round pool and making the deck bigger.

To make the improvements she asked for a side yard variance at 5 feet. She also told Board of Zoning members she will install a 6-foot privacy fence next spring before the swimming season begins.

There were no comments during the public hearing although Plan Director Ralph Booker said the residence is on two lots and he recommended granting the variance with the stipulation that the property be combined into one lot.

The Plymouth Board of Zoning Appeals approved the request with a 5-0 vote.
