On Wednesday, October 4, at approximately 7:30 in the evening, Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 13,000 block of Michigan Road in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Dispatch received a report of two male subjects engaged in a confrontation consisting of one threatening to stab the other while the other was pointing a firearm at them.

Arriving on the scene, deputies made contact with the two subjects.  During the investigation of the incident, 54-year-old Jose Cantero of the Michigan Road address in Plymouth was suspected of pointing a loaded firearm and battering another male.

Cantero was transported to the Marshall Jail and booked for Pointing a Loaded Firearm, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, and Domestic Battery with a Deadly Weapon.  He was held on a $1,500 cash bond. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
