On the morning of September 24th, just after 2:30, a Plymouth Police Officer was conducting an investigation at the Economy Inn at 2535 North Michigan Street. 

During the investigation, the officer spoke with David B. Ratcliff, 45 who is residing at the Economy Inn in Plymouth.  David was found to be in possession of legend drugs and attempted to discard the evidence. 

Ratcliff was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail for pending criminal charges of Possession of Legend Drug and Obstruction of Justice.  He was held on a $1,500 cash bond. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
