On Friday, September 15, at approximately 11:30 at night, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Officer conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the area of Pioneer Drive and Jim Neu Dr.

The owner of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old Renell West of Mishawaka.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle, several ounces of suspected marijuana were located.

West was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Possession of Marijuana.  He was held on a $250 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
