On the evening of Saturday, August 19th, a traffic stop was initiated by a Plymouth Police Officer after witnessing a vehicle traveling at excessive speeds eastbound on U.S. 30 from Pioneer Drive.
During the 7 p.m. traffic stop at U.S. 30 and Oak Drive, the driver was identified as Sara Calis-Moreno, 19 of the 900 block of North Center Street in Plymouth. It was determined that Sara had never been issued a driver’s license. She was taken into custody and lodged at the Marshall County Jail for Operator Never Licensed. Her cash bond was paid at 8:45 p.m. and Moreno was released on bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
