Last week Plymouth’s Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt updated members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on the Community Crossing Projects.

Marquardt said E&B Paving is booked through September and this year’s projects are LaPorte Street and Gibson Street which are on both sides of Lincoln Junior High.  He said they are looking at the schedule, but the project doesn’t have to be complete until the summer of 2024.  Marquardt said they are also working with the school’s schedule to complete the project with the least amount of interference to them.

The 2024 Street Paving projects include Hillcrest Avenue from Winding Oak Drive to Crimson Lane and Winding Oak Drive from Hillcrest to the dead end.  Also, West Adams Street from the dead end to Beerenbrook Street, West Adams Street from Beerenbrook Street to North 5th Street, and West Adams Street from North 5th Street to 3rd Street. The project on West Monroe Street will be done from South Michigan Street to North Center Street and East Harrison Street will have improvements from North Michigan Street to Bailey Street.  Another street project is on Baker Street between Columbus Drive and Dora Lane and on East LaPorte Street from the footbridge to Liberty Street.  The remaining city street projects are Louisa Street from South Michigan Street to Miner Street, Ruth Street from Chester Street to South Michigan Street, and Bayless Street from Jackson Heights to Lemler Lane.

Marquardt said paving will begin this week or next and should be completed by mid-September.
