Officer Blake Bennett with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and his K9 partner conducted a traffic stop on Saturday, August 19th at about 1 a.m. at U.S. 31 and Veterans Parkway.  

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 40-year-old Garly Jacques of Indianapolis. Garly was found to be operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Operating a Vehicle without Ever Receiving a License – Class C Misdemeanor.

He was held in the jail for about 12 hours until his cash bond was paid and he was released on bond. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
