Officer Schieber with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Council Drive and Western Avenue Saturday, August 12th at 12:45 in the morning. 

During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as Karen Krause, 54 East Lake Avenue in Plymouth.

While the officer conducted field sobriety testing, Marshall County Police Department K9 Diesel and his handler assisted. K9 Diesel indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle and suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located.

Karen Krause was taken into custody for Operating While Intoxicated, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Paraphernalia and held in the Marshall County Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.  She was released on August 14th just before 1 a.m. with NO JUDICIAL REVIEW. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
