A Chicago man was arrested by an officer from the Plymouth Police Department on Friday evening for allegedly hitting a witness to his theft from Lowes with his vehicle. 

Plymouth Police were dispatched to 1100 Pilgrim Lane, Lowes Home Improvements about 7:50 Friday after 25-year-old Tekee Russell attempted to leave the store in a vehicle and struck the witness with his vehicle.

Russell went eastbound on U.S. 30 and Officer Bennett with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department located the suspect and vehicle east of Iris Road.

Plymouth Officers Miller and Mark arrived on the scene at U.S. 30 and Elm Road and took Tekee Russell into custody. That is the location where Russell stopped his vehicle. 

Tekee Russell was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Theft of at least $750 and held on a $1,500 cash bond.   

        

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
