Bourbon Summerfest 2023 will be held this weekend, Friday, August 11th, Saturday, August 12th, and Sunday the13th. Booths of various arts and crafts and delicious foods are lined up for the public to enjoy. The parade will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 12th with the lineup being at the Triton High School parking lot. Fireworks, a car show, live entertainment, and much more will be taking place for all to enjoy.
Friday, August 11th begins with Community-wide garage sales all day. Find some great deals all over town from Bourbon residents.
The Little Miss Summerfest Pageant will be held in the Triton High School Auditorium. A small cash donation received at the door is appreciated as it helps fund the pageant. Doors open at 5:45 and the pageant begins at 6. At 6:45 it’s the Cutie King & Cutie Queen Contest for ages 2-5 and the Cutest Baby ages newborn to 2 years. This will be inside Triton High School West Entrance in the office area.
Saturday, August 12th theCommunity-wide garage sales continue all day. This is another day of great deals!
The 15th annual Jacob’s Run begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday. This event is in memory of Jacob Berger. Registration is at the Ernie Watkins Pavilion, the football field ticket booth, in the Triton High School parking lot. The 5K run is at 8 and the fun run begins at 8:45.
This year’s parade theme is “Fill the World with Music”. The Bourbon Summerfest Parade lineup is at the Triton High School parking lot from 9 to 10:45. Registration is near Ernie Watkins Pavilion with restrooms available at the pavilion. Parade judging is from 10:30 to 11 and the parade steps off at 11 a.m.
There’s lots of fun and games on Saturday. Bounce houses with $5 wristband for all day, kids games, food booths, craft vendors, tractor show, and more fun for all. The Bourbon Summerfest is golf cart friendly, but they encourage you to drive safely, sit in the comfort of your golf cart and watch the activities. The festival committee would love to see as many golf carts as possible at the festival Saturday afternoon and evening.
Other Saturday activities includetheDeane Leeper Memorial Tractor Show all day. At 1:00 pm it’s the Kevin Wilson Magic Show at the Triton High School Auditorium and at 2 Integrity Academy of Martial Arts demonstration with Chip Dean at Triton High School. Beginning at 5 p.m. the Wonder Wheels BMX Stunt Team will perform and at 5:45 there will be a CPR demonstration by Lutheran EMS. Enjoy music by Quentin Flagg on the Triton High School front lawn at 6 p.m. and watch the Police Dog “Chase” demonstration with Indiana State Police Trooper Dave Caswell, as his schedule permits. The Steve Neidig Memorial Hot Air Balloon Glow begins at about 7 and then at dark, at approximately 9:30 to 10:00 pm, enjoy the fireworks presented by the Bourbon Volunteer Fire Department led by Chief Chad Stepp.
Sunday, August 13th begins with theBourbon Community Breakfast. Enjoy a great breakfast by the Bourbon American Legion Ladies Auxiliary from 7:30 to 10:30 in the Triton Elementary Cafeteria.
Enjoy the 36th Annual Bourbon Street “Show and Shine” Car Show. The show vehicle entry fee is $10.00, and spectators are free. Registration is from 8 to 11:30 and the car show runs from 11:30 to 3 p.m. when awards will be presented.
The Bourbon Antique Tractor Ride lineup is from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Triton High School parking lot. Please bring protection for trailer rams to protect the parking lot asphalt. In memory of Deane Leeper. The tractors will depart at 9 for the approximate 3-hour ride.
The Bourbon First UCC church service will be held in the Triton High School Auditorium at 10:30. Everyone is welcome to attend.
