The Plymouth Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to 920 West Jefferson Street on Monday, July 31st at about 9 p.m. for the call of shots fired and someone yelling for help.

During the investigation, it was determined that a physical altercation had occurred in the residence and a handgun was discharged outside near the front porch.

The male suspect in question, Michael Carver, 28, of Tippecanoe had fled the location prior to police arriving on the scene. A short time later, his vehicle was located at River Park Square by a Plymouth Police Officer.

Michael Carver was taken into custody and a firearm was located on his person. He was then transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for Criminal Recklessness, Criminal Confinement, and two counts of Domestic Battery. 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
