Renan Gutierrez-Mencia, 23, of Brook Avenue in Plymouth, and Yohan Hernandez, 22, of West Monroe Street also of Plymouth were arrested on Monday, July 31st for aggravated battery from an altercation that occurred in the 900 block of West Harrison Street on Sunday, July 30th.

During the arrest, Mr. Hernandez was found to be in possession of a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail for Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Operating Without a License, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Possession of Cocaine.

Renan Gutierrez Mencia was arrested for Battery with a Deadly Weapon and Domestic Battery with a Deadly Weapon. 

They are both being held with no bond.   

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
