Emergency responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Wednesday, July 26th just before noon at U.S. 30 and Queen Road.  Officer Ryan Hollopeter from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash.    

Jorge Landeros, 41, was traveling west on U.S. 30 in a 1995 Freightliner semi.  As he was approaching the intersection with Queen Road, 56-year-old Charles Sims was in a 2019 Ford F30 stopped on Queen Road waiting to continue southbound on Queen Road through the intersection.

At the traffic light signal change, the semi disregarded the red display light and collided with the pickup truck that was proceeding through the intersection.

Charles Sims was trapped in his pickup and had to be extricated.  He was airlifted to an area trauma hospital for unknown injuries.

The semi-driver, Jorge Landeros did not report any injuries.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating this collision.
