On Friday, July 15, at approximately 2:00 o’clock in the morning, a Marshall County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 9000 block of King Road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 57-year-old Deborah Norton of Churbusco.
During the traffic stop, suspected controlled substances, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Norton was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Her cash bond was set at $500 and Norton was able to bond out at 9:45 Friday morning.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
