As part of the Plymouth Community School Corporation’s redistricting, they needed to make some changes with St. Michael’s students on how they will be transported.

Superintendent Mitch Mawhorter said as they are picked up from around the community, they will all be dropped off at the high school each morning and afternoon while being supervised by an employee of St. Michael.  The student will then be shuttled from the high school to St. Michael at approximately 7:50 in the morning and will be returned to the high school at the end of the school day at approximately 2:40. From the high school, students will begin their journey home on their regular busses.

PCSC attorney Jeff Houin created the new agreement which also discusses the walking boundaries for St. Michael school.  The Plymouth Community School Corporation will work with the St. Michael administration to determine the walking boundary within 1 mile of the school where sidewalks are available.  PCSC will not provide transportation to students who reside within the walking boundary.

The agreement calls for St. Michael to pay PCSC $60 per day for each day transportation is provided.

This agreement will be in effect for the 2023-2024 school year and will automatically renew for each successive school year unless terminated by either party. Either party shall have the option to terminate the agreement by providing 90 days’ written notice to the other party.

The Plymouth School Board approved the agreement.
