The new location for Bright Eyes Plymouth is larger and easier to find, says Dr. Allison Garmon O.D., the owner and one of two optometrists at Bright Eyes Plymouth. The practice is now at 333 East Jefferson in Plymouth.

Dr. Garmon bought and converted the building into a modern optometry office with financing from the U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loan program. Centier Bank and Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation provided the loan.

Indiana Statewide CDC works with local Indiana lenders to issue SBA 504 loans. The loans help small business owners buy real estate, buildings, and equipment. SBA 504 loans offer small business owners long-term, fixed-rate financing similar to commercial loan terms commonly available for large companies. SBA 504 loans also generally allow borrowers to pay a below-market down payment.

Bryan Olund of Centier Bank says, “Dr. Garmon was able to complete the project while preserving cash for her business and lock in a very competitive fixed rate. Her new location is bigger and beautifully renovated. It’s perfect for her growing business.”

Dr. Garmon purchased Bright Eyes Plymouth in 2019 from its previous owner and optometrist. Her staff includes one other optometrist and six support personnel. Now that Bright Eyes Plymouth is operating in its new location, Dr. Garmon says, “The SBA 504 loan allowed me to build the practice of my dreams!”

Dr. Garmon says Bright Eyes Plymouth offers comprehensive eye care services. “These include exams, not only for glasses and contact lenses, but we also manage medical conditions such as glaucoma, diabetic eye changes, and cataracts. We also sell prescription glasses and sunglasses.”

Dr. Garmon grew up in Plymouth and graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry.
