Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to the area of Union Road and State Road 8 for a car colliding with a utility pole Thursday, June 15th at approximately 11:15 p.m.
Culver Officer Zerbee arrived first on the scene and began assisting the driver.
Deputies Wozniak and Johnson then arrived on the scene to provide aid to the driver.
The driver, 63-year-old David Weirick had complaints of pain in his hip along with cuts and scrapes. He also appeared to be bleeding from his left shin and was given medical attention on the scene.
Weirick was airlifted to the hospital from the scene and with non-life-threatening injuries.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
