As the state’s leading law-enforcement agency, the Indiana State Police (ISP) offers assistance to nearly every law enforcement agency across the state. Yet, data shows our state troopers are among the lowest-paid law enforcement officers in Indiana. That’s why Senator Mike Bohacek said, “I supported more than $95 million to substantially increase pay for ISP.
In a recent release from Senator Bohacek, he commented, “The General Assembly also allocated $10 million for the Regional Mental Health Facility Grants, which will work in tandem with a new law that will allow courts and law enforcement officers to refer arrestees to mental health services.”
The new state budget also provides $60 million to programming to help improve outcomes in our juvenile justice programs.
In closing the senator said, “As your state senator, I will continue to support law enforcement and improvements to our justice system, which foster safe communities.”
